Cheri di Novo’s Bill 67 (Workplace Safety And Insurance Amendment Act (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder), 2014) was debated in the Assembly today and passed second reading [read debate].
The legislation would mean that all claims related to PTSD for emergency response workers (police officers, firefighters, paramedics) are presumed to have been as a result of their work. which would streamline the compensation process. The bill has been referred to Standing Committee on General Government on further review.
