ONIWG’s Labour Day message

August 29, 2018

To all workers of Ontario,

This coming Monday, we all gather together and march in the Labour Day parade, in solidarity with our fellow workers and allies. As injured workers, we continue to march for fairness; for a just compensation system – a system that will protect all of us if we get injured at work, without fail.

Labour Day message from ONIWGWe are asking all injured workers who are able to participate in their local Labour Day events – just as we ask for all workers’ support in the struggle for just compensation – because we know that injured workers’ rights are workers’ rights.

Let us use September 3rd to celebrate the strength we have together.

If you are in Toronto, you can join ONWIG in the parade by meeting us at 9:00am, in front of Staples at 375 University Ave, where we will join our friends in the Steelworkers in the parade.

This year, the Toronto Labour Day Parade may not be ending at the Exhibition as it has in the past, because IATSE Local 58 is still locked out by their employer. Injured workers stand in solidarity with IATSE Local 58. To find out more information on the lockout and to send Mayor John Tory a message, please visit 58LockedOut.com.

In Solidarity,

Willy Noiles
President
Ontario Network of Injured Workers’ Groups
