Injured workers Day of action Toronto – bring your NY resolutions

Injured Workers Rally to Demand Better From WSIB in 2024. Earlier this month, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) proudly told the world that they would be the new “Lead Sponsor” for London, Ontario’s New Years Eve party. Of course, London (where WSIB will be moving its head office over the coming years) deserves a delightful New Years Eve celebration. However, for injured workers who have been the target of decades of austerity and benefit cuts, the news that WSIB has enough money to throw a party for thousands of revelers (but no money for their benefits) is not sitting right. For those among us who will be isolated through the holidays by pain and poverty, hearing about the WSIB’s party budget brings little comfort.December 11 rally outside Ministry of Labour at 11:15

So, the #WorkersCompIsARight (WCIAR) campaign is calling on injured and ill workers & their allies to join us on Monday, December 11th at 11:15am, at the Ministry of Labour (400 University Ave in Toronto) where we will hold a rally and deliver our own set of New Years Resolutions to the Minister about what the WSIB must do better in 2024.

Do you have your own set of New Years wishes for the WSIB? Visit tinyurl.com/NewYearsWSIB to send us your demands and we will deliver them to the Minister of Labour on December 11th.

Those who attend the rally are invited to gather after the event for pizza and hot chocolate at the Workers Health and Safety Legal Clinic at 180 Dundas Street West, in the 19th Floor Conference Room.
