April 12, 2018

video of Frances Gelinas statement in the House on WSIB practicesNickel Belt MPP France Gélinas rose in the Legislative Assembly Tuesday to call out the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) on practices that have had catastrophic impacts for two miners in her constituency – and that can have devastating consequences for many other injured workers.

Two of these WSIB practices – deeming and ignoring medical advice – are ones injured workers and their advocates have long fought to have the Board and government address, and are key demands in the Workers’ Comp Is A Right campaign. As the election draws closer, remember to ask your candidates where they and their party stand on these issues! [download ONIWG’s Election questionnaire]
