On The Agenda: WSIB still up to the task?

December 19, 2016

Last Wednesday (December 14) TVO’s flagship current affairs program “The Agenda” with host Steve Paikin took a look at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario, established more than 100 years ago to administer benefits to injured workers in Ontario, and explore whether the organization is still living up to this task.

Injured worker Miguel Barreira started off the program with his experience of the workers’ compensation system, followed by a panel discussion with Maryth Yachnin (IAVGO community legal clinic, David Newhouse (IWC community legal clinic), Gary Newhouse (lawyer and co-author of “Butterworths Workers’ Compensation in Ontario”) and Tom Teahen (WSIB President & CEO).
