No consultation on revised benefit policies

September 26, 2014

Last week the WCB/WSIB posted its revised policies, to take effect November 1st, 2014 without consultation on the changes made to the last draft. While the Board states it is responding to what they heard from all stakeholders, injured workers and advocates question how well they listened to their responses and remain deeply worried about the fairness of these policies. Stay tuned ….

The policies affected are 5-02-03 Pre-existing Conditions; 11-01-05 Determining Permanent Impairment; 18-05-03 Determining Degree of Permanent Impairment; 18-05-09 NEL Redeterminations; 15-02-04 Aggravation Basis; 15-02-05 Recurrences; 15-06-02 Entitlement Following Temporary Work Disruptions; 15-06-03 Entitlement Following Permanent Work Disruptions (see Operational Policy Manual for the full versions).
