Thunder Bay & District Injured Workers Support Group invites you to their weekly Tuesday morning Zoom meeting, held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
May 12: our friends at Injured Workers Community Legal Clinic (IWC) will brief us on the legislative hearings happening later in the day/week.
As many people know, Ontario Bill 105 contains a number of proposed changes to Workers’ Compensation that could fundamentally change the way compensation is provided, and create a lifetime of probation for the workers who manage to get full benefits. The Bill going to committee this week, and written submissions to the Committee reviewing the bill are due on May 13th (the day after this meeting). We will discuss the Bill and response to it in three parts:
IWC will present a summary of Bill 105 and our written submissions on the Bill.
We will ask participants to talk about how these changes could affect them and their families, and compile those quotations into a document that TBDIWG could use as an addendum to any submissions that are made, if desired.
We will provide some resources for people to contact their MPP/Minister of Labour/Premier if they would like to raise their concerns that way.
Contact TBDIWSG tbiwsg@gmail.com for the links and how to join us online or by phone for these Zoom Sessions!
