Thunder Bay IW Tuesday online info & advocacy session

|

Thunder Bay & District Injured Workers Support Group invites you to their weekly Tuesday morning Zoom meeting, held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Everyone is welcome! Each session features a Guest Speaker, and is focused on particular issues of interest to injured workers. This is followed by how we can take action on the topics of discussion.

Guest speaker Adam King’s talk is Titled: “Building Back Battered: Workers and Unions Post-Pandemic”. It will explore how and why a unique set of economic circumstances offered workers and unions an opening to fight for change post-pandemic, and unfortunately, how and why this opportunity was abandoned by governments and mostly squandered by Canadian unions.

Adam D.K. King is an assistant professor in the Labour Studies Program at the University of Manitoba. Prior to joining Labour Studies at U of M, he was a senior researcher at the Canadian Labour Congress. He is the co-author, with Mark P. Thomas and Andrew Jackson, of Work and Labour in Canada: Critical Issues (Canadian Scholars 2025).
