Injured workers’ family summer picnic

|

The injured, ill, and migrant worker community in Toronto has a tradition of hosting picnics for the community and their families every summer; to enjoy food together and build momentum to keep fighting for our rights. This year, we’re happy to announce that Injured Workers Action 4 Justice, South Asian Women and Immigrants’ Services, Injured Workers Community Legal Clinic, the Ontario Network of Injured Worker Groups (ONIWG), and other allied organizations are hosting a summer picnic! picnic flyer

The event is happening this Saturday August 16, 2025 at noon. Join us at Withrow Park in Toronto’s East End. It is a short walk from Chester or Pape Station. We will gather just to the west of the public bathrooms. Keep your eye out for Injured Worker banners and signs. Here is a Google Map link to our location. You can download a map with event information by clicking here.

This year’s picnic is a potluck* (don’t worry if you can’t bring anything, though, we’ll bring some food so there is enough for everyone).

We would appreciate it if you could RSVP, to help us know how much food we should bring. You can RSVP by clicking here or visiting tinyurl.com/IWPicnic2025. But most importantly, we would just love to see you, so don’t worry if can’t RSVP.

*If you are able to bring a dish, we can reimburse up to $15, if you bring receipts for ingredients or items you purchase.
