The Ontario Network of Injured Workers’ Groups (ONIWG) is hosting a press conference on June 26th, 2025, at 1pm to speak on age-discrimination in the WSIB system of benefits.
While the province celebrates June as Senior’s Month, Injured Workers know all too well that those past the age of 65 face increased risk of poverty. Injured workers can only access WSIB loss of earnings (LOE) benefits until they turn 65 or for a maximum of two years if they get injured at 63 or older. This is despite the fact that many older workers are staying in the workforce out of financial necessity.
