What Is A Body Worth? is a multi-channel video installation by Kristine White with Nazanin Zarepour, in collaboration with the United Steelworkers Toronto Area Council Injured Workers Program. It explores questions around what our bodies are worth in the context of market capitalism, how injury is valued, and how workers are often left abandoned by systems that are supposed to protect them. The project also explores what happens to the mind when the body is reduced to a tool for alienated labour.
The exhibition runs from May 5 to May 26 at Charles Street Video, 76 Geary Ave. with an artist talk, live shadow puppetry and song May 26 from 1 to 3 p.m.
