Every September, the injured worker community across Ontario participates in local labour day events happening in their cities. This year injured workers and advocates will continue to march with the labour movement to make sure that all workers’ rights continue to be fought for.
Toronto – Here, in Toronto, Injured Workers Community Legal Clinic, Injured Workers Action 4 Justice, and other allied organizations will be marching alongside our friends at the United Steelworkers union.
We will gather on September 1st, 9 a.m. in front of the Staples store at Armoury St. and University Ave with injured worker banners. Once the parade is done, we have arranged buses back to the United Steelworkers hall. To aid with accessibility, there will be a few vehicles in the parade that folks can ride in to take a break from walking. However, space will be limited. In addition, we’re looking for some help with gathering signatures for our campaign to end WSIB’s discrimination against older workers! Let us know if you can help us with this.
