While supporting the Bill’s introduction of an additional indexing factor for workers’ compensation benefits, the submission proposes additional measures to address injured worker poverty: adjusting the WSIB Loss of Retirement Income so it equals the losses in contributions to the Canada Pension Plan (CPP); restoring the WSIB benefit level to 90% of net income as this government suggested before the last election; establishing an independent agency to track long term outcomes for workers with work-acquired permanent disabilities and their families.
