Labour Pains podcast #7 : Bill 105 & injured workers

April 28, 2026 by IWC Community Legal Clinic

There are some very big changes proposed to Ontario’s workers’ compensation in schedule 9 of the Government’s Bill 105 Protecting Ontario’s Workers and Economic Resilience Act.

Some of these changes are being welcomed by injured & ill workers and advocates, and some are raising alarm bells. To help everyone understand the proposed changes and the history behind them, four IWC staff members sat down to discuss it for an episode of our podcast Labour Pains. You can listen and subscribe on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. It is an urgent conversation that could affect all workers made injured or ill on the job in Ontario, whether in the past or the future. flyer for Labour Pains podcast on Bill 105 & injured workers

This episode breaks down the Ontario Government’s proposed amendments to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act and the implications for injured & ill workers. If passed, these changes would be the most significant amendments to the compensation system in decades, and would impact how lost wages compensation is managed over time.

Join IWC caseworkers Tebasum Durani, John McKinnon, Chris Grawey and Orlando Buonastella in unpacking the substance of the proposed amendments, and their potential impacts.
