WCIAR Campaign gets support from Unifor members

December 4, 2018

The Ontario Network of Injured Workers Groups (ONIWG) had an energizing few days at the Unifor Ontario Region Convention from November 29-December 2, having great conversations with so many members about supporting injured workers. We collected hundreds of signatures on our Workers’ Comp is a Right campaign petition, to add to the 4,000 + we’ve already collected from across the province. Our petition has been read out upwards of 50 times in the Ontario Legislature by MPPs from all Parties, ensuring that injured worker issues remain a regular point of discussion at Queen’s Park.

It was an uplifting experience to be talking to so many people at the Convention who understand injured worker issues as a central part of the labour movement and the struggle for workers’ rights. Thank you, Unifor, for having us, and we look forward to seeing you next time!
