Reading up on Justice for Injured Workers

October 1, 2015

cover page of Justice for Injured Workers newspaper
A reminder – If you’re not on the mailing list for ONIWG’s “Justice for Injured Workers” newspaper or picked up a copy at the Labour Day parade, the September issue is now available.  Find here news from injured worker groups around the province – including a summary of the 2015 ONIWG Annual General Meeting and updates from Niagara, Manitoulin, London and the new Peel Injured Workers’ Group. Track progress on policy (what’s happening to the 72-month benefit lock-in) , legal issues (the class-action lawsuit, Tribunal delays, significant decisions) and campaigns.

Special features cover the Revived Meredith Report prepared by Robert Storey and Carolann Elston from their hearings around the province on the current state of workers’ compensation; WSIB surveillance and “fraudulent commercials” that slickly stigmatize; cuts to funding of the Ontario Disability Response Team program. And of course, the 2015  Federal Election – “Justice for Injured Workers” calls on you to champion the cause of injured worker rights.

To order your copy of this and future issues, contact Eugene Lefrançois at munso@tbaytel.net  or (807) 767-7827. To submit articles, reports or photos for the next issue, email j4inews@gmail.com (submission deadline is Nov. 16).
