Labour Day Toronto parade – we hope you can join us!

August 29, 2018

2018Toronto Labour Day Parade invitationJust a reminder about the Labour Day parade happening this Monday – we hope you can join us! Details are in the attached flyer, but we’ll meet at 9am at the corner of University Ave and Armoury (outside the Staples). It’s always a fun time, joining with thousands of union members to celebrate workers’ rights. And we’ve also got flyers to hand out and petitions to sign, to support the Workers’ Comp is a Right campaign.

After the parade, we’re all invited back to the Steelworkers Hall at 25 Cecil Street, for free food and live music.

Unfortunately, the workers at Exhibition Place have been locked out by their employer, so they have set up a picket line in front of the CNE. To show solidarity with them and not cross their picket line, the parade will not go to the CNE this year if the lockout is still going on. Instead, it will end at Lamport Stadium, which is near King and Dufferin (see map ).

Hope to see you Monday!
