On Monday December 9 join injured workers and fellow workers’ rights advocates to tell the Ford government to fix occupational health and safety, and workers’ compensation NOW by:
- enacting s. 83(4) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act that would hold employers responsible when temp agency workers are injured or killed at their places of work
- passing Bill 119 to end the practice of “deeming” (also called phantom jobs) that is making injured workers poor
Help the Ontario Network of Injured Workers’ Groups and $15 & Fairness stop the cycle of poverty:
CUTS TO HEALTH AND SAFETY MEANS MORE WORKERS GET HURT and KILLED
CUTS TO WORKERS COMP MEANS MORE INJURED WORKERS ARE POOR
CUTS TO LEGAL AID MAKE IT HARDER FOR WORKERS TO FIGHT BACK
Meet outside the Ministry of Labour, 400 University Ave (south of Dundas St and the St Patrick subway station)
We are so happy to have OPSEU, CUPE Ontario, Decent Work and Health Network, Health Providers Against Poverty, Oakville and District Labour Council – ODLC and the United Steelworkers endorsing and attending our event on Monday. We love the support we have as we stand together on Monday to send a message to FordNation to #FIXITNOW #WorkersCompIsARight
