Labour Day parade & social – Toronto

| Staples - outside

Be part of the Labour Day Parade, the annual celebration of workers and injured workers. Time to get together with our friends in the labour movement, enjoy the outside, socialize and have fun.

After the parade, everyone is invited back to the Steelworkers Hall, 25 Cecil Street, for food and live music.

Join us at 9:00 a.m. in front of Staples, northeast corner of Armoury St and University Ave (across from the Ministry of Labour at 400 University Ave.) We will be joining the parade behind the Steelworkers this year.

Unfortunately, the workers at Exhibition Place have been locked out by their employer, so they have set up a picket line in front of the CNE. To show solidarity with them and not cross their picket line, the parade will not go to the CNE this year if the lockout is still going on. Instead, it will end at Lamport Stadium, which is near King and Dufferin (https://goo.gl/maps/HJVu9RjcTb82).

For those outside Toronto, check with your local injured worker group and labour council for parades or other Labour Day events in your community.
