On the first Monday in September parades through Ontario’s towns still celebrate workers’ contributions and labour union solidarity. It is also an occasion to campaign for workers’ rights and better working conditions.
2022 – A return to Toronto & York Labour Council’s in-person Labour Day parade – the 150th anniversary of Labour marching in the streets of Toronto is important to unions and working people. The Labour Day Parade leaves Queen St. W. at University Ave. at 09:30 AM sharp, heading west on Queen West to Dufferin, then turns south and enters the CNE grounds at Dufferin Gate.
