Day of Mourning

April 28  is a day when Canadian workers commemorate those who have died , been made ill or injured on the job – and recognize the lasting impact on their families and communities. For the past two years because of COVID-19 the event has been held online. This year once again injured workers will gather in person. Day of Mourning events in Toronto and Woodbridge

In York Region, the ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Woodbridge Memorial Arena, 5050 Hwy 7, Woodbridge.

In Toronto, the Day of Mourning ceremony will be held 12:00 noon at Larry Sefton Park (just behind City Hall), 500 Bay St – (to be followed by a community delegation led by IW4J and J4MW to the Ministry of Labour at 1:00 p.m.)
