Injured workers betrayed by WSIB President’s re-appointment

ONIWG’s Letter to the Premier and press release share the outrage felt at the recent two-year extension to the term of I. David Marshall as the Board’s CEO and President, despite widespread opposition to his role in creating a Board so hostile and contemptuous of injured workers. We have many questions: Why the lack of transparency surrounding this decision? And why the secrecy about whether he’ll receive the $400,000 bonus ?  Isn’t there a conflict here with the Public Sector and MPP Accountability and Transparency Act 2014? On the other hand, it’s no secret that,  in real terms, injured workers’ benefits are reduced when the cost of living adjustments are so far below the inflation rate…
