Day of Action : Injured workers demand better health care from WSIB

June 10, 2016

Press release: Injured workers are holding Ontario’s workers’ compensation system to account. In a provincial Day of Action today across 7 cities in Ontario, organized by Injured Workers Action for Justice together with injured worker groups and supporters, they will be delivering an open letter to the WSIB and parliamentarians. Endorsed by over 140 organizations and individuals, and accompanied by thousands of postcards signed by supporters, the letter demands improvements in how the WSIB provides health care for the recovery and rehabilitation of the province’s injured workers. [Read Press Release, with media contacts]

Their main demands?

That the WSIB listen to injured workers’ doctors (Call for Ombuds Office investigation ), approve the treatments their doctors recommend and better protect vulnerable workers, like injured migrant workers and workers with mental health issues.
